A little perspective

In our ward, we have been offered quite a few callings.

1. Primary Chorister (Chan)
2. Primary teachers
3. Achievement day leader (Chan)
and...finally!
4. Subbing for the 16-18 year old sunday school class

Any guesses on our current calling?
Sunday School!
I bring this up because on Sunday we heard the most awesome prayer ever.
I hope that no one is offended by me posting parts of this prayer, but it was too cute not to share.

This teen in our sunday school class named Patrick, was saying the closing prayer in class on sunday.  Instead of the usual "help us get home safely" "apply what we learned" etc. his prayer went something like this: "Dear Heavenly Father, I want to thank you for my friends, I want to thank you for what you've done for me, I want to thank you for helping me find this church, Amen."

Tay and I could tell that he was a little hesitant to pray at first, but his prayer was priceless.
I love it!

Spring Break Project

So, this is a little late but I wanted to post about my awesome spring break project! Taylor's mom Allyson made him a t-shirt quilt with a bunch of t-shirts from his life and I loved it! It is seriously the most cozy quilt ever! So, I got a great idea! I started collecting t-shirts from my siblings and father that would remind my mom of them. Then, over spring break (with a TON of help from my mother in law Allyson) I finally pieced it together! She absolutely LOVED it! It was a lot of fun, and work well worth it.

I don't really have a great finished photo of it, but here are some from the process.  I absolutely LOVE the blue polka dot we used on the back.  It was perfect for all the fun colors of t-shirts!

Mine and Nashvilles Love/Hate Relationship

I decided I would make an awesome Love and Hate for Nashville.  Just to post something new I guess!

LOVE!
-Downtown is pretty awesome, lots of stuff to see there
-If you need anything, places here are open super late (unlike ephraim utah)
-The selection of places to shop/eat/etc. Makes it hard to choose when we eat out...
-FREE CONCERTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-Our dishwasher!
-The pool at our apartments
-Six lane highways (nice when you need to get somewhere)
-Our ward, lots of interesting people!
-Our rented furniture! the bed is ssooooooo soft!
-Our apartment doesn't smell like smoke anymore! (or we just got used to it...)

Hate
-The on ramps to get on the highways are a big loop that you can go NO MORE than 30 mph on.  Rather than just having the ramp go straight to the highway its this huge loop! If you look at one on google maps it looks like a flower!
-If I google a certain store I want to go to and it says 5 miles away, that really means 10-20 minutes worth of driving on highways.
-How long it took me to know the location of Walmart!
-(the obvious) I miss our families!
-I have to drive a couple blocks to do laundry; no quarters, just a money card you load up at the office

So there you have it.  The things about Nashville!

Our 4th of July holiday was awesome! We had a nice BBQ with some friends from Rove and then we headed to a free Darius Rucker concert at Riverfront Park.  It was pretty awesome because we were right by the river...the stage was a barge!  The concert was awesome, but the fireworks were crazy!  They went on forever and the grand finale was earsplittingly crazy!  We also had a chance to go buy some fireworks.  Ones that aren't sold in Utah (bottle rockets, firecrackers...etc.) There were three different tents that we went to to compare prices.  After the third tent we went back to the first and we got rewarded for coming back! We now find ourselves with 5 packets of bottle rockets containing 144 in each pack! We are LOADED.  The funny thing about these fireworks though, is that in Davidson county where we reside, they cannot be lit off! Guess we will have a hayday when we head back to Delta in August, a whole different fourth of July.
